Signs of the End
There are many signs of the end.
- False christs
- Wars and rumours of wars
- Fearful sights and great signs from heaven
- Sea and waves roaring
- Mass animal deaths
Jesus Himself spoke about the signs of the end in Matthew 24.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
- Matthew 24:5-8 (KJV)
These signs are all like birthing pains which become worse, and more frequent towards the end.
More and more wars. For example: WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc.
Earthquakes have always happened, but now they're happening more frequently. For example, in 1974 there were 4,500 earthquakes, but in 2014 there were 118,000 earthquakes.
Mark 13 and Luke 21 add even more to Matthew 24.
And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
- Luke 21:11 (KJV)
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.
- Luke 21:25 (KJV)
Mass Animal Deaths
Here is the verse about mass animal deaths.
Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
- Hosea 4:1-3 (KJV)

Ellen White repeats, and also adds several other signs to that list.
In fires, in floods, in earthquakes, in the fury of the great deep, in calamities by sea and by land, the warning is given that God's Spirit will not always strive with men.
- Ellen White, Manuscript Releases, Vol. 3, p. 315
How frequently we hear of earthquakes and tornadoes, of destruction by fire and flood, with great loss of life and property! Apparently these calamities are capricious outbreaks of disorganised, unregulated forces of nature, wholly beyond the control of man, but in them all God's purpose may be read. They are among the agencies by which He seeks to arouse men and women to a sense of their danger.
- Ellen White, Prophets and Kings, p. 277
Ellen White says that there will soon be a sudden change in God's dealings with mankind, e.g. things will get more deadly.
There will soon be a sudden change in God's dealings. The world in its perversity is being visited by casualties,--by floods, storms, fires, earthquakes, famines, wars, and bloodshed. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power; yet He will not at all acquit the wicked. "The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet." O that men might understand the patience and longsuffering of God! He is putting under restraint His own attributes. His omnipotent power is under the control of Omnipotence. O that men would understand that God refuses to be wearied out with the world's perversity, and still holds out the hope of forgiveness even to the most undeserving! But His forbearance will not always continue. Who is prepared for the sudden change that will take place in God's dealing with sinful men? Who will be prepared to escape the punishment that will certainly fall upon transgressors?
- Ellen White, Fundamentals of Christian Education, p. 356
- Dust storms
- Sink holes
- Volcanic eruptions
- Hail the size of golf balls
- Violent winds
And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
- Revelation 16:21 (KJV)
Grave warnings of things to come.
Science calls this "climate change".
The restraining Spirit of God is even now being withdrawn from the world. Hurricanes, storms, tempests, fire and flood, disasters by sea and land, follow each other in quick succession. Science seeks to explain all these. The signs thickening around us, telling of the near approach of the Son of God, are attributed to any other than the true cause. Men cannot discern the sentinel angels restraining the four winds that they shall not blow until the servants of God are sealed; but when God shall bid His angels loose the winds, there will be such a scene of strife as no pen can picture.
- Ellen White, Counsels to the Church, p. 343
The word you're looking for is unprecedented. This has never happened before.
I'm absolutely shocked at how often the events above have happened already. In 2017 there was a flood almost every week.
Once these signs appear (as they have), this generation shall see the second coming of Jesus.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
- Matthew 24:34 (KJV)
I firmly believe that we are indeed in the last generation.
