From the book of Revelation we understand that if you worship the beast, you will receive the mark.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead [thoughts], or in his hand [deeds].
- Revelation 14:9 (KJV)
The mark is a sign of who you worship. The mark is placed in the forehead (thoughts), and in the hand (deeds). Even the deeds come from the thoughts, so it's a spiritual mark therefore, and not a literal mark.
That then rules out the idea that the mark is some kind of RFID chip, e.g. it's not like you worship the beast, and then one morning you wake up with a RFID chip on your forehead.
When you worship God (by keeping the Ten Commandments) you will also receive a sign in your forehead and hands, except it's called the Seal of God.
And thou shalt bind them [Ten Commandments] for a sign upon thine hand [deeds], and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes [thoughts].
- Deuteronomy 6:8 (KJV)
The place "between thine eyes" is where the frontal lobe is. That's where all the decisions are made.
To sum it up:
|God||Ten Commandments||Sabbath||Seal of God|
|Beast||Commandments of men||Sunday||Mark of the beast|
Those who do not worship the beast will lose their earthly life.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
- Revelation 13:15 (KJV)
Those who do worship the beast will lose their eternal life.
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
- Revelation 14:10 (KJV)
This is serious stuff. You may be killed for refusing the mark. But then if you take the mark you may lose eternal life.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
- Mark 8:35 (KJV)
This decision is very similar to that of Daniel's friends who refused to bow down for an image of gold, and chose the blazing furnace instead.
So how will this be enforced?
And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak [legislate], and cause [enforce] that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
- Revelation 13:15 (KJV)
From the above verse we see that we will be forced to worship the beast by some kind of legislation.
So there has to be some kind of legal framework (or structure) by which the mark can be enforced on the entire world.
There is indeed a structure like that, and it's called the New World Order (One World Government, One World Religion, Sunday law, etc).
Wait, isn't that a conspiracy theory?!?
Actually, no, it's in the Bible.
And the woman [Roman Catholic Church] which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
- Revelation 17:18 (KJV)
The antichrist will create a New World Order that you can only join if you worship the beast (satan really). That's their plan.
If you join the New World Order, you will gain the ability to "buy or sell", but you will be forced to worship the beast (on Sunday).
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
- Revelation 13:16-17 (KJV)
If you refuse the mark you will need to rely solely on God.
The antichrist will throw this world into complete and utter chaos (war, famine, pestilence). Then, in the midst all of the chaos they will present the New World Order as the solution.
So, again, this is all about who you worship.
We either worship God (on the Sabbath), or satan (on the Sunday).
God will deliver all that are in the Book of Life.
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
- Daniel 12:1-3 (KJV)
God's Holy Spirit will be with you the entire time (just like He was with Stephen from the book of Acts).
God be with us all.
