Solomon and 666?
The number 666 (that is six hundred and sixty six, not 6-6-6) is only linked to two people in the Bible.
The current pope
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The pope's job title is VICARIUS FILII DEI, and if you substitute each letter for its numerical value you get 666.
Solomon
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold.

I don't think the 666 here is a coincidence. Most things in the Bible are done on purpose.
This verse is also repeated in the book of 2 Chronicles.
Conclusion
At first glance "the number of a man", and "the weight of gold" have nothing to do with each other, but maybe God is saying that 666 is linked to a certain "kind" of man.
The 666 talents of gold Solomon accumulated every year symbolized and epitomized his pride and self-exaltation, and most of all his disobedience to the explicit commandments God had specifically given for the kings of Israel to follow. Thus "The number of the beast", 666, is a symbol of willful disobedience, a declaration that "I'm going to do things my way, regardless of what God says".

Solomon was disobedient and loved gold, and and that can be said of the pope too.
And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

Either way, Solomon is not the 666 from the book of Revelation, but it is an interesting parallel.
